About The Bees Knees

Located on Kings St. in historic downtown Bowmanville, The Bees Knees offers a large variety of consignment items and an opportunity for parents in the community to earn back some of the costs associated with keeping your children clothed and happy.

In the short time that The Bees Knees doors have been open, Owner Kristyna Erding has grown it leaps and bounds.

How Consignment Works

If you've never shopped at a consignment store before, you may not understand the business model. Basically, our consignors drop off gently used items that we can sell on their behalf.

A Consignor (seller) will bring in their gently used family items (Toys, Clothing, Maternity Wear, Baby Care Items, Strollers etc.) and we will display it to be sold. The store will price the item to be sold and once the item has sold the consignor's profit is logged in their personal account on our software, so next time you come into our store you can check your balance and see which items have sold.

Pay Out

All Clothing: 40% to Consignor

All Toys/Gear: 50% to Consignor

All credit is paid out in Cash.

We do not pay for items upon drop off, only upon sale of the item.

If the items you dropped off do not sell within 90 days you are free to come and pick them up. If an item has not been picked up within 30 days (from 90th day on display) consignors forfeit ownership of said item to the store for donation to an appropriate charity or cause. All consignors are required to sign a release waiver upon drop off.

The Bee's Knees retains the right to refuse any items deemed unsellable.

Items that can NOT be sold at The Bee's Knees include:
- Car Seats
- Cribs
- Walkers
- Stuffed Toys
